DailyHistory.org's goal is to create a website that answers historical questions and helps readers find the books that can answer their questions in even more depth.  DailyHistory.org is at its core a wiki. All of the articles on this site will ever be finished. Additionally, aside from a few Expert Booklists, all booklists will also be wikis.  We hope to create a community of people who are interested in answering historical questions and directing people to the best history books available. In addition, to our articles and booklists we will also have author interviews with current historians to help keep up on all of the new research being done.

Our Mission

DailyHistory.org's goal is to answer historical questions and help readers find the best history available. DailyHistory.org is at its core a wiki. All of the articles on this site will never be finished. Additionally, aside from a few Expert Booklists, all booklists will also be wikis. We hope to create a community of people who are interested in history and historical research. In addition, to our articles and booklists we will also have author interviews with current historians to help keep up on newest research being done.

The rules are simple:

  1. Every article answers a historical question because that is how historians approach the study of history. DailyHistory.org is not an encyclopedia, it is site that tries answer specific historical questions.
  2. Booklists are focused on specific historical topics and are limited to ten books. Why ten books? By limiting lists to ten books it forces the writer to be more specific in their selections.
  3. Everything needs to original. Do not use any copyrighted material in the articles or booklists you create.
